The demand for smart speakers is rising rapidly. Research firm Canalys reports the global installed base for this system group at the end of 2018 to be 114 meters, but by the end of 2019, this will increase by 82.4% to 207.9 million units. Competitive polling firms have projected the existence of articulate speakers. In 2019, IDC anticipates smart speaker transportation worldwide to 144.3 million, and by 2023, for example, to grow to 240.1 million a year. For smart speakers and their voice assistants, China has a big opportunity. Smart Speaker Use: Still Key Music:
For an ingenious speaker in 2019, music is one of the main applications. In fact, multiple studies have shown that it is the most widespread usage. For eg, NPR and Edison Research have found that play music is the top of their list of weekly smart speaker requests, a strong source of knowledge for smart speakers in the US. Any 77% of American smart-speakers do so ahead of time (75%) and ask general questions (74%). The study also showed that 55% of smart speaker owners claim that they listen to more audio when they get one and that 69% use the speaker every day. Separate research, published in March 2019 by Voicebot and Voicify, also showed that hearing music listening is the most common case for US smart speaker owners. 69.9% of them said they do this weekly and 38.2% every day in this poll. Notice that radio is also part of the smart speaker ecosystem: 40.5% listened to the radio every month and 21.2% listened each day.
